Hi all, I got a chance to see a demo LG Tritan and it’s a really cool phone. I heard from a U.S. Cellular rep. that it should be in the store sometime this week. I have the Samsung Delve and I can’t wait to return it so I can get the LG Tritan. I was told it has Yahoo Messaging and IM Messaging.
someone create a site for the LG Tritan, http://www.LG-Tritan.com check it out when you have time.

Hey, I got the new LG tritan the other day, it is the best phone I have ever owned, there is so much that you can do with it. It has Navigation, and email and so much more, if you get this phone you will love it!!!!
July 15th, 2009 at 1:33 pm
so what are the main differences between the delve and the tritan? i cant decide which one i want to get!!!

I bought 2 of these for my daughters today to replace the Rumors that had infinite problems. Brought them home, charged them up, and already they both have shut themselves off a couple of times (like the rumor) and one has frozen up (like the rumor) if this is signs of things to come on this phone I will be more than pissed (especially considering I had to add 2 internet charges of 19.95 a month just to have what I thought would be a decent phone)

Best Phone Ever! I got it today!
You will FALL IN LOVE WITH IT!

July 29th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
yes it shuts off…ive had that problem alot, but its the best cell ive ever had and if it is shuting off try turning it on and off manually and take out the battery and let it sit for about 5mins..or go back to the store you bought it from and tell them your problems i took it back to uscellular 1 time because it kept shutin off and they gave me my money back and a new cell for free, and this one works great!

for thos of you that have certain little problems with a phone i have in the past taken mine in for software upgrades and it solved the issues, all new tech is bound to have a few bugs to work out..i just got the LG triton and the only problem im having is i charge it and charge it but it never shows charge complete, otherwise its been pretty sweet so far…better than the Delve that i just recently destroyed

I have an LG Triton. Awesome little phone. Like the others, I have trouble w/it restarting itself sometimes. I also have trouble with it typing backwards sometimes (i.e. sometimes would display semitemos). It goes screwy on the text message screen sometimes too just rapidly going through every text sent. Once I shut it off and back on, then it clears up. Otherwise, this little ditty is a must have!
August 16th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
good phone the lg tritan is never had an problem with it
August 27th, 2009 at 7:59 am
the only problem i have is that you can’t set the text to a certain ringer…but it’s a truly amazing phone with way more features than a person really needs on a cell i think..lol.. it’s great!
August 27th, 2009 at 8:03 am
…and i just shut it off and back on again and it works!

We just got the Tritan last week and love it with one exception – I cannot send pics to my son’s Samsung Eternity.
I’m with US Cellular and he’s with ATT. We’ve called both tech supports, read the forums and have come to the conclusion that the Tritan won’t interface with the Eternity’s pic software. I can send pics to all my other contacts. Anyone heard of any interface updates?

The phone never says it’s been completely charged. I went back to the store I purchased it from and she suggested turning it off when I charge it. Well, it’s been 4 hrs and still going. Also, sometimes the “unlock” key doesn’t work when a call is coming in. I miss the call and have to call them back. Not efficient when my son’s doctor is returning my call…the doctor is always hard to get a hold of.

i’ve had the tritan for 2 months now and i had to take the first one back because it kept shutting down on me when i would be in the middle of a txt…they didn’t believe me at the store that it would do it, but they did let me trade it out for another one…and wouldn’t ya know, this one is doing it too. it didn’t take long for it to start doing it…and once it starts it shuts down and restarts pretty frequently – about 3-4x a day…and seems like it does it at least once a day. it’s very annoying because it’s always when i’ve just finished a txt and getting ready to send…or if i’m opening a txt to read.
other than that i do like it. i wish that it was a little faster when browsing. my fiance has the palm pre and it’s a much better phone than the tritan – if i would’ve known that before i bought the tritan i would’ve gotten that instead.

i love this cell phone but the touch screen accidentaly locked my cellphon eso could you help me unlock it
October 10th, 2009 at 8:44 am
I love this phone. However there are a few very annoying problems. I have had to exchange phone once due to the fact that any scrolling screen will just keep scrolling.. like when you go to send a reply to a txt and it just keeps scrolling through all your txt and won’t let you reply back. Or when you go to send a text and it will randomly not allow you to type correctly, only allows you to choose the first letter and nothing else. Very annoying.. And to the person who told everyone to just shut up and that phones will have problems.. If you don’t like what your reading stop reading it dumbass. Oh and that’s the whole point in a forum is to voice opinions and facts. Must be wonderful to be so ignorant.
October 29th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
The tritan I own ran good for about three months and then it started turning off on its own, the other problems expressed haven’t occurred yet but I think Im going to exchange it for another phone because all the problems listed has discouraged me from getting this wonderful again
October 31st, 2009 at 8:11 pm
well i’ve had this phone about 5 months. i would have to say that this is a very prowerful phone except i believe the phone suffers from sofware flaws the people who been writing about restarts its true i’ve gone through 2 replacement phone they all seem to suffer from random restarts you could be doing anything at anytime and the phone restarts i believe its software related something stupid that probably could be fixed with a patch but other than that this is a very powerful phone very.

December 8th, 2009 at 9:53 am
I’ve had this phone for four months now, and sorry to say I have not had any of the problems listed in this forum. It’s been working great from day one.

I have the LG. Triton thru alltel/verizon and I have only one issue with it(when my number was changed i lost data connection) the fix was easy and i have had no issues since. this phone runs great with my Linux Ubuntu based laptops…if you are haveing issues you should be able to run updates form your providers office…(they have acces to the server) and can update most needed fixes.

Bought Tritan U.S. cellular last summer, having same issues as others with shutting off on own, charging forever, now disconnecting from internet on own and shutting off, pathetic for the high cell cost, never get one again. US cellular little help, overheard tech in office say it is a KNOWN LG problem, with no fix yet.
January 17th, 2010 at 12:07 am
Bought US Cellular Tritan and it locks up everyday. When you touch one of the icons to the left hand side of the screen, the contacts icon “pushes”-you can see it-and when you slide it open you can’t “touch” anything at all. Sometimes it fixes itself if you put it on the charger. When it happened the first time, we took it to the US Cellular people and they said it was junk and not fixable, but then it started working the next day. It receives and makes calls when this happens, but you can’t view any texts that you receive until it fixes itself. We’ve tried taking the battery out (multiple times) and wonder if anyone else has this problem, and what (if anything) we can do to fix it. Thanks!

I have had my tritan for about 7 months now. I have not had a problem with it once. Over the summer I was attacked by about 5 really big guys, and my phone was slid across the ground, and thrown. It has scratches on the screen, but still works. This is a great phone. It is also very durable. It is the best phone I have ever had.
February 8th, 2010 at 4:30 pm
I’ve had the LG Tritan for 4 months and have had known of the problems you listed but my has been shutting the screen off.. The touch part still works i can click on different things and get music to play and call random contacts but cannot see anything that is going on.
February 23rd, 2010 at 6:30 pm
this phone sucks! first it was shutting off in the middle of sending a text message then the touch screen wants to work when it feels like it and i bought this phone 4 months ago!! i have insurance but all they’ll do is give me the same phone!
February 24th, 2010 at 2:18 pm
I received this phone SIX DAYS AGO. After the first few days it shut off on me while I was sending a message. I didn’t really think too much of that. Then there was a brief period of time when I couldn’t use the send or the back button. I still planned to keep the phone. When I tried to charge it a few days ago, the charger was in the phone about a minute before it actually started charging Since it charged I didn’t think anything else of it. Last night I put the phone on the charger around 11:30pm. This morning when I woke up it was still charging. I took it off the charger to take it to class with me and it only had one bar. On the way to class that bar went away! This phone is definitely going to be returned.

Most of these problems can be eliminated by setting the application for contact backup to manual or turning the application off. Solved mine, and we have 6 of them (yes, six…teenagers!) :]
March 8th, 2010 at 8:47 am
I’ve had mine since September, and it’s still working great. It does slide down through my texts sometimes, but who cares? That’s just a little problem, and other than that there’s nothing wrong with it.
March 30th, 2010 at 11:24 am
I’ve had this Tritan for 7 months now, other than it shutting itself off now and again I’ve loved it, and yesterday the screen went black, and no matter what I do it just stays black. I went to the US Cellular store to get it serviced and 2 people in front of me in line had the same phone.
April 11th, 2010 at 9:09 am
Loved it at first. now its just pissing me off. the screen is turning colors, its randomly turning off and then back on so i have to keep it on the charger, and the worst part, i just took a trip to florida and the phone deleted all my pictures and videos from the trip. very angry and disappointed with this phone. thinking about going back to my rumor.
April 14th, 2010 at 3:29 pm
Got this phone right before Thanksgiving and after a couple months it was restarting in the middle of texts. Annoying, but I could live with it. Now it has just started scrambling when I close the slide out. And if I open it again, it clears up, but scrambles again when I close it. I have to do this several times before the screen will be normal. I also had a problem with it going black and not turning back on. To solve this, I took the SD card out and the battery pack, put the battery back in and turn it on then put the SD card back in. Again, annoying, but I could live with it. But the scrambling, I afraid is really gonna mess my phone up. I have not dropped it or had in water.

April 22nd, 2010 at 12:52 pm
anyone else having a problem with the phone latly? over the last few weeks my phone has been gradually getting worse. today none of the physical buttons work. also it starts random programs like MyContactsBackup and games all the time without me touching it, and it goes nuts changing the volume up and down. almost as if it has a virus or someone is remote controlling it. i’ve heard from a few people that have had problems with their LG Tritan acting funny latly so i am asking here.

i need a manual for a lg tritan and i am not having good luck finding a site where i can get one, can you help?
June 1st, 2010 at 5:40 pm
I’ve had mine since Aug of 09. Love the phone, hate that it shuts off randomly before sending a text. Not happy it does this, but somewhat satisfied to know it isn’t just my phone and that I somehow caused it to do this. My wife has had the same phone, same amount of time, and has already had to get hers replaced due to other problems.
