Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8530 – New Sprint Cell Phones
The Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8530 cell phone has two colors: royal purple and black. The Sprint Curve 8530 is an optical trackpad and support WiFi. The God-awful “royal purple” colour detracts from the beauty of the phone. I bet Sprint is hoping that it can lure women. So the Curve strategy seems to be working. Not really feeling the purple. I guess some will like it, but not for me. It goes to show how mainstream blackberries have come though, as purple doesn’t exactly shout professionalism. I hope the retail price is low. The Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8530 cell phone will be available on November 20 2009 for $99.99 on contract after rebate.

Can’t wait! I’ve been looking for a cute blackberry to upgrade too from my standard pink, yes pink, phone and I think this will be a nice one to get. Initially wanted pink but this purple is cute!

YOU HAVE JUST MADE MY XMAS. I WENT INTO THE SPRINT STORE TO UPGRADE AND WAS SHOWN A PICTURE IF THIS PHONE. I IMMEDIATELY DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEW BLACKBERRY IS AVAILABLE SINCE PURPLE IS MY FAVORITE COLOR. THANKS FOR MAKING MY XMAS PERFECT. I HOPE IT WILL BE AVAILAVLE BEFORE XMAS. THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS I HAVE BEEN WITH SPRINT FOR 10 YEARS. YOU ARE NOT AFRAID TO PUSH THE BOUNDARIES OF SOCIAL CHANGE. THANKS.

Just called sprint. The pink/purple phone isn’t available right now…not sure when it will be, but the black is available as of today for $50 after rebates and upgrade discounts. Disappointing that both aren’t available today; was going to get the wife the purple phone for XMas. :(

I am so bummed that the royal purple wasnt available when the new black blackberry was released… I am holding out for the purple phone though bc I think it looks awesome… can’t wait…. please sprint hurry up and release the royal purple blackberry!!

The black 8530 is available for $49.99 upgrade/new customer price. The purple & red are to be available beginning of 2010. A previous post shows release date for 01/10/2010. I’m not too sure how true this is, but I do work @ sprint & the release date for the black was never announced until that same day. Hope this helps! Ps- I’m holding out for the purple one too!!! :)
