How can I transfer photos from the W376g to my computer?
Can the USB connection be used for something else besides battery charging?
January 6th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
You can buy a Bluetooth for your computer, and Settings > Connections > Bluetooth Link
> Setup

The USB port on all Tracfone W376G Cellular phones is disabled and CANNOT be used for anything other than handsfree headset, and charging from your PC (and with most models you must download a driver for that). The only use for bluetooth is handsfree operation. You cannot bluetooth to your PC. If anyone discovers a way to bypass the lockout of the USB port, please post!

I guess that means no downloading pictures from my phone without some expensive new gadget? Or will some gadget not help me anymore.

I was told by Radio Shack where I purchased my W376G that I could download a free USB driver from Motorola so I can
transfer my photos to my PC. Has anyone found a free
download? Where?

Download the driver from the Motorola website. But I still haven’t been able to transfer pics. The PC won’t recognize the phone as a drive.

You don’t need ANYTHING fancy or expensive for pix to PC – just email it!! Go to the pix you want to send, push the button in the middle of the circle and a menu comes up. First option is “Send in Message” click that and it will attach the pix to a message click ok and then choose who to send it to. (Just set yourself up in your phonebook with your email address first) You’ll get an email with the picture attached and you can save it to your PC.

Libby,in your Menu Page click “messages” icon then “Create” under it look for “MMS” then click. On the lower Left corner of your screen, you will see “INSERT” click it and it will take you to your picture/s.Under the “Picture” you have two Option the “Preloaded and downloaded media files and Additional Storage D” I think the pictures that was taken from your tracfone cam is stored under Additional Storage D. Select the picture you are going to send and hit “Insert” When it is done attaching the picture, click “OK” it will then take you to your phonebook. You should see the “One Time Entry” highlighted, click that and type your email address and you are done. You can only send picture one at a time.Goodluck!

this fone sux! its slow and takes forever to text, it wont let me download pics, and i cant send pictures to people. i do NOT recomend this phone
June 18th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
@Misty
Yeah, you could e-mail the pictures to your e-mail, but it’s rather costly to do so. Today I e-mailed ONE picture, and it cost me 1.5 minutes. And that price could go up or down depending on how fast or slow it takes the phone to send the picture.

For all practically purposes they have a USB connection, at least physical there is a connector and landscape space on any cell phone is a precious item, yet the software to do the USB data exchange is not provided. At least not to the owners. So we are forced to spend moneys just to send pics to our computer. Motorola, I’ll remember that little got-ya the next time I’m purchasing a new phone. Got-ya!

In the ad for the 376G motorola from Tracfone it states it has an FM radio that must be used with a headset. ??? I see no directions for that use nor do I see the speaker phone directions?? Anybody help??
August 18th, 2009 at 6:01 am
billypop — the FM radio is under Multimedia. It needs something plugged into the headset jack because it uses the cord as an antenna. You can play it through the speaker, though.
The speaker phone option only appears while a call is in progress. It is the right hand “soft button.” After your call connects or you answer an incoming call, look at the screen.
To everyone else –
Don’t hate on Motorola about the disabled USB and Bluetooth; that is Tracfone’s doing. Read the fine print and Internet reviews before you put your money down next time. Do some research so you know what you’re getting and whether or not you’ll be happy with it.

This cell phone is a lead ballon. It has quit a number of times and I’ve only owned it for slightly more than 2 months. It has quit again. Has there been a recall on it. Can it be replaced?

Did Wine Diva (22 & 23) get an answer? That is my question also.

I would like to know how to delete messages and pictures that I do not want to keep on my Motorola W376g. There is nothing in the book that tells you how to do that.
January 4th, 2010 at 9:57 pm
This phone is worthless! I can’t believe I was duped so badly! Not only can I not transfer my pics my computer will not even recognize it! If I could, I’d send it back and tell them if they needed the money that bad they could keep the money and the phone! They need a bailout?

I’ve had my Motorola W376g for a month or so & I also have been frustrated with learning the features. The TracFone Guide is worthless. But after reading these posts, tonite I have learned to send pics, use the FM radio feature, which I love. Still looking for the answer on how to lock the phone tho. Thanks to all for your help.

I too have this phone and have since Dec 09,Have been to radio shack 4 times trying to get it situated so it works correctly. I bought it in a Shack and the manager sold me a 6 piece set of connectors so I could get the pics off the phone. When I went back to complain it would not work without a driver I could not FIND.. she got nasty and told me that for the price I paid I would just have to work more with it. So far it’s now working.. but no pics for sure so I stopped taking them. Disgusted.. yes and I would not reccomend it to anyone.
March 6th, 2010 at 8:59 am
I had the motorola razr v3c and they wouldnt allow pic transfer without emailing them just as the w376g which i have now, at the time I found a site that had a program to transfer to your computer but lost the program, keep searching one will turn up.

Ya know, I thought I had it together, but must ask this question. How do I access my message inbox or outbox. After I select inbox or outbox, my only options are create msg, cleanup msg, memory status, msg set up, and browser msg set up. And yes I scrolled up and down. The only time I have been able to read them is when they first come in, yet my phone indicates they are still there.
April 15th, 2010 at 6:00 pm
i’m having trouble reciving pics from my friend. all comes up is an red X. whats wrong???
May 18th, 2010 at 4:51 pm
Am I the only person in the world who has wanted to delete a phonebook entry? I have people I want to delete that I can’t get rid of. The manual for this Motorola W376g really sux. No information whatsoever on how to delete phone numbers or contacts entirely, just tells you how to edit. Meanwhile your phonebook is cluttered with old data you no longer want. :-\

I understand the Motorola M376g is a Tri-band phone. This phone was originally purchased as a Tracfone- but I transfered the number to a NET10 phone. I need to travel and would like to purchase a Canadian GSM SIM card to use in the Motorola M376g phone. Everything I’ve read says this is a triband phone, but nothing tells how I can use this phone as an unlocked Tri-band GSM Phone. Any ideas?
Thanks in Advance- Todd
