Motorola Droid Specs
The Motorola Droid cell phone can be customized in almost any way a user wishes. More and more widgets are coming out that are really great and great looking. I love android i think its a great platform. I think people need to see more Motorola Droid pictures from different angles as well as someone holding it in their hand. The straight on angle makes the phone look plain and not very attractive but I think the thinness of the phone will make it look attractive even though it’s plain and boxy.

do you have to pay monthly for internet?
November 5th, 2009 at 10:41 am
Is that a serious question?

Not if you use your wifi – if you want cellular internet, then OF COURSE you pay for it.

“Not if you use your wifi”
Umm, most people pay for “their” WiFi.
“if you want cellular internet, then OF COURSE you pay for it.”
I think he probably really wanted to know if he would charged *extra* service fees for cellular Internet access. I doubt if he was really asking if the phone came with free service.

no #5 I bought mine from verizon. cost me 299$ with a 100$ rebate that will come in like 2 weeks. I pay 30$ a month for unlimited internet(which is the point of this phone kind of) and 10$ for unlimited texting. there are no extra fees. actually since this phone uses google maps instead of the pay direction apps that most carriers offer. you save money. no more vz navigator I have speach recognition google maps instantly :D

There is no point in getting this phone without having internet access on it. When you get the phone you have to have the data plan which is $30 a month. That isn’t that bad because I have had my droid for 5 days now and if was paying per megabyte then my bill would be over $400. Did you guys see that see that article in the times about that 13 year old that had 22k bill in one month on his dad’s bill for browsing the web on his phone without a plan.

You should wait for the Nexus One to come out though, it is much faster with 512mb of ram.

The motorola site says that the cpu is running at 550 MHZ not 600 MHZ

Nice one “J” there always has to be a d!ck responding to a question

@Mike: Yes, the Droid was intended to run at 600MHz, but it is clocked by default to 550MHz. If you root your phone and use an overclocking tool found in the MarketPlace, one can easily overclock their phone to 800MHz+ at the cost of battery life. There have been some accounts that 1.3GHz has been achieved on the Droid, and even some projects trying to run it at 1.5GHz, but these are for extreme users only and is not recommended because you can do some serious damage if the CPU overheats.

My moto droid is amazing. But, one of the major cons, the cpu can get up to 108.9.f. I suggest that anyone should get memory booster.lite. the hotter the CPU, the more life is taken from your phone.

I did the commit on my droid. Download skyfire web browser. It rocks.

Over clocking can be fatal. The most overclocked is up to 1.9 ghz. The phone only lasted for three months before it turned off, the never started back up again…
